Ban Holiday Stress, Sleep Wrinkles and Puffy Eyes from Your Party Attire

Miuccia Prada once said, "Women always try to tame themselves as they get older, but the ones that look best are often a bit wilder. Thinking about age all the time is the biggest prison women can make for themselves."

With that said, why not ditch the little black holiday party dress and try something more attention grabbing? You deserve it! Here are some suggestions to get yourself party-ready any time of year…

Battle the bloat

If the new dress happens to be a bit too tight because you’re feeling bloated, there’s a simple solution. Joyous Health suggests you might be dehydrated.

Drink lots of water to rehydrate or eat some cucumbers. You can use the leftover cucumber and place them over or under your eyes to help reduce puffiness. Celery and coconut water are excellent re-hydrators, too.

 Fight “smush face”

If you think your face is showing a little too much holiday stress, there are some quick fixes to bring back the glow.

Real Simple Magazine’s 10 Beauty Shortcuts says lying with your face smushed into a pillow leads to creases. Try splashing warm water on your face to enhance blood flow to the area, too.

Getting a solid eight hours of sleep each night may not be enough. The optimal way to fight “smush” face is to remove facial contact with a pillow. It’s possible with a sleep wrinkle pillow that’s especially designed to do just that!

Brighten that smile

Every woman knows that the finishing touch to any makeup look is the perfect lipstick. Prevention Magazine offers these easy to follow steps for smudge-free lips:

  • Exfoliate dry or chapped lips before applying lipstick
  • Prime your lips to ensure a plump smooth surface
  • Lip liner is essential for keeping lipstick from “creeping”
  • Lipstick lasts longer when you apply multiple layers rather than one thick, single layer.
  • Just like with your foundation, you can set lipstick with translucent powder.

There you have it! Make a grand entrance to any holiday party looking perfectly rested, outstandingly stylish and feeling the beauty that comes from within.

Happy holidays to all!
